The Channel Port of Dieppe is a major player for the town of Dieppe. As a strategic crossing point for exchanges with Great Britain, the Port of Dieppe generates numerous jobs in the transport industry and cargo trade. The marina offers 850 moorings for rent to pleasure crafts, as well as the only dry dock of its kind in France. Available to small-scale fishing professionals, there are auctioning services and the Fish Market facilities on quai Trudaine, where fish and seafood are promoted, particularly the King Scallop, the local flagship speciality. The Port generates 1,250 direct jobs in total, which represents one in twelve jobs at the scale of the city.
